If you love holidaying in UK rather than heading abroad, then you’ll be excited to hear about a new development of log cabins set in the heart of Snowdonia. This exciting holiday retreat is expected to start welcoming guests next summer.
Forest Holidays are building the luxury cabins, which will be located in a woodland area of North Wales, which was previously known as Eryri Forestry Park. Located closely to the town of Beddgelert, many locals welcomed the newly planned holiday homes, however a few were not so happy to see the plans. These residents created an online petition which gained 3,613-signatures, and the local council also received 200 letters of complaint.
Despite this opposition the site is expected to create permanent jobs for the local people and is estimated to bring in around £550k to the economy annually.
The managing director of North Wales Tourism Jim Jones spoke to Daily Post and expressed his excitement of the new development: “North Wales is a vibrant and thriving destination with a growing reputation for inspirational and exciting tourism experiences and I am confident that Forest Holidays will compliment and further enhance this offer.’’
The log cabins have been designed to fit perfectly into the landscape and will blend in to create a natural experience for guests and all cabins will also be eco-friendly. Snowdonia brings in thousands of tourists each year with its extensive heritage and famous sights this project will bring an exciting new accommodation option for returning and new holiday makers to the area.
