Client brief: To create a wonderful children’s tree house that will take them from 8to 16 years old. Would like it to be quite rustic, large enough for the inside space to be worth while, large enough deck outside to be able to put chairs outside. Need lots of activity. The quote included: A 9ft x 9ft tree house sitting on a platform 19ft x 15ft. The tree house was built next to a large oak tree with the platform continuing all the way round the tree. Balcony all the way round the tree house with a larger balcony on the south west side. Finished outside in waney edge board with a rustic thatch roof. Finished inside in shiplap, both walls and ceiling. Two sleeping platforms in the roof. Interior floor 6 inch planed timber planks, exterior floor 6 inch ribbed decking. The tree house has access via a proper open tread staircase and also a wooden ladder. Underneath the tree house is a set of monkey bars which run the whole width of the platform with access ladders either end. A knotted manila climbing rope and manila rope and oak tread rope ladder hang from the branches. A zip wire runs off the tree house platform to a remote post 50 meters away. A manila, hand made, climbing net 6ft x 13ft stretches from the ground up and over the balcony rail. Sitting above the tree house in the branches of the tree is a crows nest. The area underneath the tree house platform has been made into a deck. Price £18,750 plus VAT |
